06.27.2008 / Internet Explorer is the Bane of My Existence

At least Bill Gates is trying to make up for this terrible product via philanthropy. He’s going to have to give A LOT of money to offset all the pain and suffering IE (at least IE6 and prior) has caused web developers over the years.

06.27.2008 / FedEx Kinkos DOES NOT Have My Business

Especially when they charge $0.49 per B&W computer printout. And especially when Staples charges $0.09 for the same service. Oh, yeah, Kinkos also charges $18/hour (or $0.30/minute) to use their computers in order to print the files. Later FedEx, you have lost my business for good.

06.26.2008 / Tampa Thunderstorms Are Loud

I’ve never experienced such loud and looming thunderstorms as the ones Tampa produces. It seems like we’ve had an ominous thunderstorm every afternoon since the end of May. Ones with crazy amounts of lightning, booming thunder and torrents of rain. Maybe you’re not impressed if you’ve lived here for a while, but coming from Albuquerque where the storms are much shorter and inconsistent I’ve got to say I’m rather impressed.

06.24.2008 / I Need Wisdom

As I work towards finishing my book I am in need of wisdom and grace to find a palatable combination of pithy critique, thoughtful dialouge and useful suggestions. (Just in case you are wondering, I’m currently heavy on the first of those three.)

06.24.2008 / Resolution #1: To Place a Moratorium on Using “Christian” Words and Phrases That Lack Meaning

Many people have kept “resolved” lists throughout time and for whatever reason I don’t feel the need to seek “credibility by association” by naming them. Simply put, I’ve decided to start a “resolved list” of my own to track the visceral/spontaneous/deeply contemplated/superficial conclusions my mind sometimes draws.

06.24.2008 / The Emails Aren’t Too Bad

I didn’t realize that Pacific to Eastern time travel had such tiring effects. As a result of said tiredness I’m just getting around to my emails this afternoon and surprisingly they aren’t too bad. This could be good in that it’s evidence I’m slowly making the business model transition I’ve been pursuing or it could be an indicator that business is slow and I’m on the verge of bankruptcy.  That would suck.

06.22.2008 / Reunion Wrapup

Sixty some people all from Hannah’s side. Lots of good conversation. An abundance of sloppy cafeteria food. Two In n’ Out runs. Some swimming. Not so much sleeping. One long plane ride with a second tomorrow. And now some bad heart burn. All in all fun times. Oh yeah, and some family photos which were much better cooridinated than I thought they’d be. Good job Sarah!

06.21.2008 / In The Words of The Beatles…

… I’m sooo tired I haven’t slept a wink.

Our 2 year old woke up at 2 am crying for momma and our 4 and 6 year old have been so amped playing with all their cousins that they’ve been up until 11 or later each night. The end result is that daddy is rather sleep deprived and missing mommy too.

06.19.2008 / Phoenix Has Landed

Who would have expected that as a blog title? The flight went very well and the boys were very laid back and content so much so that when we landed in Phoenix the man sitting across from us asked “how much Benedryl did you give your kids?” I told him that I’d given them none and that we still had to go from Phoenix to LAX and that I was keeping my fingers crossed. They are running off energy at the airport play place which is not nearly as cool at the Tampa one. Our flight is delayed an hour so they should be totally zonked by the time we hit LA.

And if you’ve ever wondered why my wife refers to our youngest one as the Adventurer kindly observe the following photo sequence for evidence. (Don’t worry it wasn’t nearly as bad as it looks.)

06.19.2008 / Through Security Ok

This is the first time I’ve travelled with all three boys and most definitely the first time with kids minus hannah. The boys are bouncing around on the play place, we’ve made it through security and are about to get a quick bite. Now if the remaining 7.5 hours go as smoothly as the last hour everyone should arrive at LAX rested and happy as a lark.
