06.05.2008 / Work (Not Very) Unplugged

I find it rather amusingly ironic that companies and people tout “wireless” like crazy when pitching services and products (like how I reversed those two?). Anyway, the irony is that my life seems to include more wires now than it did 5 years ago, as evidenced by the picture below, which shows 1) power cord 2) USB iPhone charger 3) headphones and 4) mouse. This doesn’t even include my iBook (which I currently do not have plugged in), nor my iPod (if you’re wondering why I need an iPod even though I have an iPhone, don’t ask - it’s a frustrating tale that involves me not wanting to switch from T-Mobile and thus not getting iTunes (at least not yet) to work properly.)

Wow, lot’s of parentheses in that last paragraph.

Anyway, here’s the anti-climatic pic, which is probably a lot less worse than I made it out to be.

05.13.2008 / My Only Complaint Against Apple

I might take some heat from fellow Mac lovers for this one, but holy cow, it feels like the front edge of the MacBook Pro is trying to slit my wrists it’s so sharp sometimes. It’s better when I prop it up on a laptop cooler (i.e. usually a stack of books or my laptop case since I have yet to spring for a “real” laptop cooler) but it’s starting to annoy me. Senor Jobs, if you are reading this maybe you should consider rounding the front just a bit the next time around.
