Boomer Networks

After reading Apparently Old People Aren’t Dying To Use Eons over a TechCrunch I am surprised to see Inc running a feature on another Boomer network called 55-Alive!.
All of this Boomer stuff is making me wonder if people are trying to force social networking on people who don’t really want it. I know my parents are not at all interested in joining a network of aging people. They have told me that it makes them feel isolated, out of touch and irrelevant. If one of these Boomer networks catches on I guess my parents will prove to be the exception, but my gut tells me that the main concept behind Boomer networks needs to shift from a push approach to a pull approach.
