Love Creative Has Fun With PowerPoint

July 31, 2008

I got a big kick out of Love Creative’s website. Their opening line is “made in Powerpoint” which is nicely, and humorously played throughout the site. Great job guys! (And nice work too!)

Tom Peters on Recession

July 31, 2008

The Upside for the resilient and gutsy and creative is as high as the downside is low for those who attempt to hide in the closet until the fur stops flying.”

Note: I’m not sure what specific evidence he has to support this claim, but I still like the quote :) You can read the rest of his thoughts here. There’s some good stuff in there so it’s worth a few minutes of your time in my estimation.

Cuil is Cool

July 29, 2008

A couple of former Google programmers just launched a competing search engine called Cuil (pronounced “cool”). From what I’ve read, they sold their previous one to Google in 2004. Very interesting… I like how they are going complete opposite of Google with the whole black color scheme.

Gary Busey on Business

July 25, 2008

These satire clips to promote GotVMail are well done. A few of them (”now more than ever”, “motivational cliches” and “what it takes to be successful”) made me genuinely laugh out loud.

UPDATE: I removed the video because it auto-played - here is a link to it.

From GoDaddy to MediaTemple

July 24, 2008

GoDaddy’s shared server plans were getting slower than an 80-year old in the fast lane with his/her blinker on. MediaTemple has a great rep in the web industry, in fact, we used them back in 2002 when I was at Rome & Gold, and apparently their Grid-Service is structured differently than traditional shared hosting, which, hopefully, means faster content delivery for both my blog and ClickBricks - both of which were stalling pretty bad as of late. Let me know if it seems faster to you. BrandonMuth.com has resolved here in Tampa, and ClickBricks should be done resolving by tomorrow. Toodaloo.

Scoopd Is Coming

July 23, 2008

A friend and I have been working on this project since May. It is in the latter stages of testing and we are planning on launching it in August. Leave a comment if you’d like to be notified of launch and future updates. Cheers!

German Historical Museum

July 23, 2008

There are thousands of amazing photographs on Flickr some of which I’m going to post under “Flickr Faves”. This one is taken in Berlin, where I hear the architecture scene is off the hizay.

I Guess I Do Twitter

July 23, 2008

I said here that I “don’t Twitter” but with the discovery of HelloTxt, it looks like I’m starting. Uh oh.

New Site Design

July 22, 2008

It’s a little more business, a lot less dark and, hopefully, a nice update. Please share your thoughts if you feel so inclined. I’m sure I’ll tighten up a few details over the coming days, but considering how busy I’ve been I’m happy to get it up!

A couple of notes:

1) I implemented sIFR for the first time so that the blog titles could appear in the same font (Futura Medium Condensed) as the other headlines (which are images files.)
2) I haven’t checked it for IE 6 and no doubt there are a few issues that need attention.
3) I am adding to and cleaning up the portfolio over the coming days.
4) Finally, I updated to WordPress 2.5 and am having trouble activating the iPhone posting plugin. If anyone has thoughts on fixing this I would greatly appreciate it.

Have a nice night!

The Economics of Love

July 18, 2008

A good article written by Ben Stein entitled “Lessons in Love, by Way of Economics” posted on the NY Times web site.
