04.29.2008 / 53 Year Old Brochure

In the process of packing this week, of which, my wife has been doing the VAST majority of, I came across a brochure that my grandfather designed for a nursing home in California back in the 50’s. For those of you who don’t know my grandfather was a very talented artist and served as an Art Director in Portland for several years. When I found the brochure I remembered the afternoon he walked me through the process of how he created it with a combination of typesetting, screen printing and illustrating to which I replied “Wow, I can’t believe you did all that without a computer or layout programs”. (Haha, to which he probably thought, “Dumb kid”.)

Anyway, I’ll snap a photo of it and upload it later. If you’re interested, here’s some links to other stuff my grandpa did:

- Elijah: The Man Who Went To Heaven - lots of cool pen illustrations in here.

- Various paintings my grandfather did.
